Description	:	William Francis "Bill" Peters, the son of Avlyn Marietta (Taylor) and Ralph H. Peters, was born March 19, 1937 at Angus, Nebraska. Bill departed this life on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare in Hastings, Nebraska. Bill received his formal education attending Nuckolls County rural schools and graduated from the Edgar High School with the class of 1954. Peters, was born March 19, 1937 at Angus, Nebraska. Bill departed this life on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare in Hastings, Nebraska. Bill received his formal education attending Nuckolls County rural schools and graduated from the Edgar High School with the class of 1954. Bill served his country with the United States Army, enlisting in 1955. Following a tour of duty in Germany, he was discharged from service in 1957. Bill moved to Omaha where he worked with a construction company. After being injured while working construction, he returned to the Edgar area driving a truck for Abbotts Dairy. On September 2, 1962 he was united in marriage with Gayle Bailey at the Presbyterian Church in Edgar. This union was blessed with three sons. They made Edgar their home where he began his forty-year employment with the Superior-Deshler Company, retiring in 2001. In his retirement years Bill enjoyed playing cards and having coffee with his friends at the card shop. He could often be found driving the country, visiting with his old customers and looking at the area crops. His greatest love and enthusiasm in life was for his family, and he especially cherished the time spent with them. Preceding him in death were: parents; sons, Douglas A. and Danny D. Peters; sister Mary Lee Niedfelt; brother Donald Peters, and step-brother, Lyndall Scott. Left to treasure his memory are: loving wife, Gayle Peters, of Edgar; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and JoAnn Peters of Kearney, Nebraska; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Stephanie Peters of Kearney, Nebraska, and Derek and Dustin Peters of Holstein, Nebraska; great grandchildren, Connor and Briahna Peters; step-brother Lamar Scott and wife Marge of Waynesville, Missouri; step-sisters, Delores "Teed" Gunn of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Sharon Hauschild of Oakley, Kansas and a host of relatives and friends. Interment was in the Edgar Cemetery, Edgar, NE. Published in Kearney Hub on April 30, 2012
