Description	:	Campbell Citizen, Campbell, Nebraska, January 22,1920 William Fredrick Bartels, son of Wm. Bartels was born October 10, 1902 and was baptized November 2nd of the same year in the Lutheran church. He was confirmed on May 6th 1917. On the 12th of January this year he began to complain of pain in the side which developed into appendicitus (sic). An operation on January 16th seemed for a few hours to have saved his life but on January 17th at midnight his soul was carried to the land of rest. Willie was a faithful obedient and diligent boy and a delight to... Read More	Campbell Citizen, Campbell, Nebraska, January 22,1920 William Fredrick Bartels, son of Wm. Bartels was born October 10, 1902 and was baptized November 2nd of the same year in the Lutheran church. He was confirmed on May 6th 1917. On the 12th of January this year he began to complain of pain in the side which developed into appendicitus (sic). An operation on January 16th seemed for a few hours to have saved his life but on January 17th at midnight his soul was carried to the land of rest. Willie was a faithful obedient and diligent boy and a delight to his parents. His good nature, brightness of mind and friendliness made him so agreeable to everbody (sic). He lived to see only 17 years, 2 months and 16 days and his early departure is mourned by his parents of both father and mothers side, two sisters and four brothers.. Interment was made on the 21st of January in the Lutheran cemetary (sic). His former teacher, Rev. H.W. Robbert conducted the funeral services at which his confirmation class of 1917 sang two songs. An abundance of flowers, presented by his many friends adorned the casket.
