He was born AprIl 9, 1918, in Cyclone, TX, to William R. and Minnie Kosel. He was reared in Rosebud, TX, and graduated from Rosebud High School in 1936. He served in the Army during World War H, having duty in Okinawa in the Pacific Theater. He married Eunice E. Flem of Sherwood July 11, 194Z in Los Angeles. They moved to Sherwood in 1946 and he became a partner in K. R. Flem Implement the following year. In March of 1979, he became sole owner. He retired in 1983. They spent summers in Sherwood and winters in Temple. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, American Legion Bothun-Peterson No. 213, Tyrian No. 113 Masonic Lodge and Sherwood Golf Club, all of Sherwood. He also was a member of Farm Bureau and North Dakota Farm Implement Association. For many years be was part of the Sherwood Quatet, a singing group. He also served as Sherwood mayor for a number of years. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Marlys Whitley, Moody, TX, Karen Kosel, San Francisco, CA, Barbara Cockerham, Belton, TX; sons, Richard,Fargo, Dr. Gary, North Oaks, MN; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Ethel Kramer, Rosebud, TX, Alice Kaulfus, Lydia Flentge, and Wille Mae Ondrasek all Temple, TX.
