WILLIAM PADGET William Padget, 89, resident of Black Hawk County for more than 50 years, died Monday at 10 a.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Pines, 408 1/2 Thompson Avenue East, from a complication of diseases incident to advanced age. Padget, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Padget, was born in England August 7, 1844, and came to America when he was 10 years old. He lived in Canada and Michigan before coming to Black Hawk County, Iowa, locating in Mt. Vernon Township. Six years ago he came to Waterloo and made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Pines. He married Rebecca Garton about 70 years ago. She died in 1880. He married again March 28, 1883, his second wife being Augusta Timion. Mrs. Padget died May 28, 1929. Three sons, George Padget, Route 7; John, Route 3, and William, Route 5, and two daughters, Mrs. William Eyestone, Route 7 and Mrs. A. R. Urie, Detroit, Michigan, children of his first marriage, survive. Children of his second marriage who survive include two sons, Fred and Harry Padget, Route 5, and two daughters, Mrs. Geneva Brooks, 418 Oak Avenue, and Mrs. Pines. The body was taken to O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home. Published in The Courier (Waterloo, Iowa) on Monday, December 11, 1933. WILLIAM PADGET Funeral services for William Padget, 89, who died Monday at his home, 408 1/2 Thompson Avenue East, will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the O'Keefe & Towne Chapel with Rev. William Hardcastle, pastor of Plymouth Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Township Cemetery. Published in The Courier (Waterloo, Iowa) on Tuesday, December 12, 1933.
