He moved from the country of his nativity in 1854 settling in Bourbonnais Grove, Illinois where he was married Aug. 4, 1857 to Miss Matilda Courville, a sister to Mr. J. B. Courville, of this city. Read More	Concordia Kansan April 28, 1910 William LaRocque, who was born in Chambly Basin, Quebec, Canada, in 1831 died in this city on Saturday April 23, 1910. He moved from the country of his nativity in 1854 settling in Bourbonnais Grove, Illinois where he was married Aug. 4, 1857 to Miss Matilda Courville, a sister to Mr. J. B. Courville, of this city. To this union was born fifteen children, nine of whom are living-seven daughters and two sons. The family came to Cloud County thirty-four years ago, and have lived here ever since. He leaves a widow, also the following named children; Mrs. Emma Fortier, Chambly Basin, Canada; Mrs. Armeline Martin, Bradley, Ill.; Mrs. Laura Castonguay, Mrs. Louise Guimond, Mrs. Florence Nadeau, Miss and George L. LaRocque, all of Concordia and Josephine LaRocque all of Concordia and Jos. LaRocque, of Scottsville, besides thirty-one grandchildren. His brothers are: Henry, of Montero, Ill.; Isaac, of Waterloo, Canada; Joseph, of Chambly Basin, Canada; Sister Prudente, a nun, at Montreal, Canada, Mrs. Anna Lamoreaux, of Olpe, Kansas; and Eliza LaRocque, of Chambly Basin, Canada. His cousins are men prominent in the community in which they live and are: Joseph LaRocque, of Glasco; Fred LaRocque, of Concordia; Albert LaRocque of Glasco and Bishop LaRocque, of Sherbrooke, Canada. The funeral will be held at the Cathedral on Tuesday morning at ten o’clock. Mr. LaRocque has been a prominent character in this community for a great number of years and has always stood well among his neighbors and those who knew him best. He was of an exceptionally gentle nature and his kindly disposition has a happy influence on whatever company he was in.
