Description	:	Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from Emmanuel Lutheran church for Mr. W.H. Meyer who died at his home at 9:30 a.m. Monday following a lingering illness. The Rev. M.W. Lilie officiated at the final rites and music was furnished by Mesdames E.P. Hackbarth, Kenneth Spurling, Donald Hawks and Graham Hoeg with Mrs. Walter Schramm at the organ. Casket attendants were Barnard, Robert and LaVern Christiansen, George and Lloyd Meyer and Franklin Dorfler. The flowers were arranged by Mesdames Byron Bahrenfus, Oren Leonard and John Wiese. William Henry Meyer, son of August Meyer and Henrietta Harder, was born May 3, 1879 at Denison, Iowa. When he was two years old his parents moved to a farm in Jackson township, Crawford county, Iowa. William was confirmed in St. John's Lutheran church near Deloit in 1895. On June 1, 1904 he was married to Miss Caroline Christiansen. They had two sons and two daughters. One of the sons, Julius, died in 1926. William and Mrs. Meyer continued on the farm on which he grew up until 1936 when they moved to Storm Lake where William operated a Watkins route for 12 years. In 1948 they retired to Lake View. He had reached the age of 77 years, 6 months and 16 days. Surviving are his wife, Caroline; one son, Elmer Meyer of Sac City; two daughters, Mabel (Mrs. Jake Janssen) of Wall Lake and Viola (Mrs. Marvin Brotherson) of Breda; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
