Description	:	CHANUTE TIMES, JUNE 8, 1900 Will Gingrich, a young man of about 19 years of age, son of fireman Gingrich of the city, was drowned near Bacon's Ford Monday afternoon while swimming with a number of boys who had gone out to attend a Sunday School picnic. From the best information we can get, the boy got into deep water quite a distance from the rest of the crowd and was drowned before anyone could offer assistance. From the best information we can get, the boy got into deep water quite a distance from the rest of the crowd and was drowned before anyone could offer assistance. Search for his body was instituted immediately and it was not found until late that night. This is a terrible blow to Will's parents and they have the sympathy of everyone. Mrs. Gingrich who is said to have heart trouble is said to be very low and there are some fears that she cannot survive. The dead boy had lately become a member of the A.O.U.W. of which order will probably conduct the funeral services. He carried an insurance of $2000.
