Description	:	Funeral services were held Sunday, May 31st at 3 p.m. on Bethel Baptist Church, Powers Lake, for William H. Peterson, age 68, who died on Wednesday, May 27. Rev. Earl Grubb officiated, Mrs. Hazel Lawrence was organist and Mrs. June Enget, Mrs. Ardis Enget and Mrs. Lupe Holte sang. Pallbearers were Bob Waterud, Carter Breding, Steve Jorgenson, Joel Dihie, Norval Gochanour and Norman Westerness. Honorary pallbearers were Glen Slotsve, Frank Ritzke, Joe Wallace, Clarence Breding, Lloyd Enget, Ted Gibson, Ted Albertson and Harold Jorgenson. Interment was in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery with Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr Peterson was born June 3, 1913, at Columbus, and was reared there. He married Esther Jorgenson of Powers Lake in August 1940 in Los Angeles. In 1941 they moved to Columbus where he was employed by Truax-Traer Coal Co. They moved to Noonan in 1946. He worked for Westland Oil Co. there, and later for Baukol-Noonan Coal Co. They came to Powers Lake in 1949. They operated Peterson's Standard Service and he also sold American Family Insurance. Mrs. Peterson died in October 1964, and in September 1965, he married Gudrun Nelson at Powers Lake. He rehired from the service station operation in 1970 due to ill health. Mr. Peterson was a member of Bethel church, the church board of deacons and was president of the church men's brotherhood. He was a member of the Powers Lake City Council for 10 years. Surviving: wife; sons, Terrance, Froid, Mont., and Bradley, Powers Lake; stepdaughters. Mrs. Glenn (Colleen) Martin, St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Ed (Jill) Wylet Sardinia, Italy, Mrs. Rand D. (Debra) Davis, Orem, Utah, Mrs. Joel (Laurie) Dihle, Columbus, and Mrs. Norman (Connie) Westerness, Noonan; seven grandchildren; brothers, Olvin' Columbus, and Mrs. and John, Cut Bank, Mont. And sisters, Mrs. Ovedia Shervey. Portland, Ore., Mrs. Mabel Gochanour, Seattle, Mrs. Hazel Watterud, Powers Lake, Mrs. Esther Coughlin, Oregon City, Ore., and Mrs. Vivian Christiansen, Baltimore.
