Description	:	************************************************************ William Henry Britton was born at Ettna, Ohio, March 17, 1857 and departed this life July 29, 1931 at the age of 74 years, 4 months, and 12 days. At the age of three years, he with his parents moved to New Cardon, Indiana, where he remained until 1870, at which time they moved to Nebraska and settled in Saline County, eight miles south of Dorchester, where he grew to manhood. Read More	********************************************************** William Henry Britton was born at Ettna, Ohio, March 17, 1857 and departed this life July 29, 1931 at the age of 74 years, 4 months, and 12 days. At the age of three years, he with his parents moved to New Cardon, Indiana, where he remained until 1870, at which time they moved to Nebraska and settled in Saline County, eight miles south of Dorchester, where he grew to manhood. At the age of twenty-one, he was converted at the Center school house and joined the Church of God. A few years later he moved to Pleasant Hill and transferred his membership to the United Brethren church there. He faithfully served that church as Sunday school superintendent for eighteen years. On May 2, 1886 he was married to Mary F. Lane, who departed this life July 3, 1897. To this union one daughter was born, Ethel M. Hultberg who now resides at Chadron. He was married January 9, 1901 to Daisy May Caton, who passed away May 2, 1913. To this union one daughter was born, Gladys Marie Stansberry, now of Hastings. In 1886 he moved to a farm, one and one-half miles north of Pleasant Hill and resided there until 1907 when he moved to Dorchester, where he remained until death claimed him. On December 17, 1924 he was united in marriage to Maude M. Karr, who has faithfully nursed him during his last illness of several months. Besides his wife and two daughters, he leaves to mourn his loss three grandchildren, Helen and Margaret Hultberg, and Charlene Stansberry; also one step-daughter, Mrs. Clarence Van Doran and family and one step-son, Albert Karr and family, all of Seward; one sister, Sarah C. Mooberry of Kremmling, Colorado; three brothers, Noah of Pomona, California, Marshall and Amos and their families of Dorchester; and several other nieces and nephews besides a host of friends.
