Brookhart was born near Muscatine, Iowa, February 3d, 1852; died at Ingleside, Nebraska, December 4th, 1918, aged 66 years, 10 months and 1 day. Brookhart was born near Muscatine, Iowa, February 3d, 1852; died at Ingleside, Nebraska, December 4th, 1918, aged 66 years, 10 months and 1 day. He settled on a farm in Nuckolls county (sic) in 1882, and with the exception of a few months has been a continuous resident. January 1st, 1884, he was married to Lizzie Horning of Plattsmouth, Nebraska. He was the father of six sons, four of whom with his wife, have crossed the river before him. He united with the Evangelical church soon after coming to Nuckolls county (sic). A few years ago he transferred his membership to the Pleasant View United Brethren Church, where he was a faithful, active member. He leaves to mourn their loss two sons, four grand children and four brothers. Rev. S.B. Dillow of Hastings, and Rev. Lemons of Angus, conducted the funeral services at the home of a son Friday afternoon. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic). He was a kind father, a good neighbor, and ever the champion of the weak and unfortunate.
