Description	:	Obituary William H. Claver was born in North Carolina, March 25th, 1814, and died near Albia, July 22, 1890, aged 76 years 3 months and 27 days. When 14 years of age, he with his parents removed to Putnam county, Indiana, where on March 16, 1837, he was united in marriage to Miss Lydia Gardner. In 1854 he removed with his family to Iowa, settling on the farm where he died. His wife died January 26, 1878. Claver was born in North Carolina, March 25th, 1814, and died near Albia, July 22, 1890, aged 76 years 3 months and 27 days. When 14 years of age, he with his parents removed to Putnam county, Indiana, where on March 16, 1837, he was united in marriage to Miss Lydia Gardner. In 1854 he removed with his family to Iowa, settling on the farm where he died. His wife died January 26, 1878. To this union there were born 3 sons and 5 daughters, all but one of whom were present at his death, one daughter having died in 1844. On August 12, 1880, he was married to Miss Annes Nicholson, who still survives him. December 10, 1886, he united with the M.E. church, continuing in this relation till death. He had been in failing health for some time, and on Friday, July 18th, he sustained a stroke of paralysis on the left side, resulting in his death on Tuesday evening. The funeral services were held at the U.P. Church, July 23rd, and were conducted by Rev. H.C. Millince, the text being Job 19:25-27. A large concourse of people gave evidence of the esteem in which he was held. An old and honored citizen, neighbor and friend has fallen.
