Description	:	William Henry Curtis, 87, Clay Center, formerly of Topeka and Valley Falls, died Thursday, November 25, 2010, at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. He was born on March 9, 1923, at Valley Falls, the son of Meryl D. and Leona Constance Langston Curtis. He graduated from Ozawkie High School. He was a Mess Sergeant Officers Cook in the 8th & 9th Army Air Force in WW II and was stationed in Ireland, England, France and Germany. He later served three years in the Army Reserve. Read More	William Henry Curtis, 87, Clay Center, formerly of Topeka and Valley Falls, died Thursday, November 25, 2010, at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. He was born on March 9, 1923, at Valley Falls, the son of Meryl D. and Leona Constance Langston Curtis. He graduated from Ozawkie High School. He was a Mess Sergeant Officers Cook in the 8th & 9th Army Air Force in WW II and was stationed in Ireland, England, France and Germany. He later served three years in the Army Reserve. Henry was a member of United Steel workers Local 307 and retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber in Topeka after 30 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post 101 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Clay Center United Methodist Church and a former very faithful member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church in Topeka. He married Angie Evelyn Brammell on Nov. 15, 1942, at Kansas City, KS. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene M. Curtis, and two sisters, Ethel Puderbaugh and Majel Curtis Schmidt. Survivors include his wife, Angie, Clay Center; a son, Leslie D. (Linda) Curtis, Casper, WY; two daughters, Beverly I. (James) Rieger and Susan K. Curtis, all of Clay Center; a sister, Leona Lee Grimes, Pittsburgh, CA; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at the Highland Park United Methodist Church, 2914 SE Michigan, Topeka. Burial with military honors by Grahem-Herbers Post 3084, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery.
