At an early, age he moved with his parents to Iowa and had resided here ever since. On May 20, 1863, he was united in marriage to Margaret Emily Krouse at Anamosa, Iowa. At an early, age he moved with his parents to Iowa and had resided here ever since. On May 20, 1863, he was united in marriage to Margaret Emily Krouse at Anamosa, Iowa. To this union were born 7 daughters and 1 son: Mrs. Mary Livingstone of Marshalltown, Iowa; Mrs. Esther McDonald of Center Junction, Iowa; Mrs. Lily Roberts of Olin, Iowa; Mrs. Ella Curttright, Rockwell City, Iowa; Mrs. Lou Neelans, Ruthton, Minnesota; and Henry, who resides at home in Onslow. The other two daughters passed away, one In infancy, and Mrs. Margaret Mackrill, who passed away in July, 1920. Mr. Reade passed away after a short sickness, on December 14, 1921, at the age of 81 years and 22 days. He united with the M. E. church of Onslow when he was 25 years of age. Mr. Reade was the second son in a family of 10 children. Four have preceded him in death, two brothers, John and Hezekrlah, and two sisters, Anna Maria died in infancy, and the other, Mrs. Martha Hutton, died on March 27, 1921. Those remaining are Nelson Reade of Onslow; Mrs. Nancy Paul of Onslow; Jeremiah Reade of Webster City, Iowa; Mrs. Ruth Kinney, Marion, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Welch, Stanbury, Missouri; and Samuel Reade of Monticello, Iowa. Besides these he leaves to mourn 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. One of the outstanding characteristics of his life was his unsevering honesty testified to by all who have known him for more than 65 years in this locality. He had been a member of the Masonic order since early manhood, having joined the order at Wyoming in 1867. He was a most devoted father and husband, always kind and considerate in his feelings for others. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the members of the Masonic order, who so kindly assisted them during their sad bereavement.
