Early in his younger years, he and he and one of his brothers (Sylvannus), walked up to New Brunswick from Maine, U.S.A. Both married England-born Glendenning sisters in Bathurst. He was given a land-grant in Big River along the Nepisiquit River, and is the ancestor of all the Bathurst New Brunswick Husseys.
