Weber, an employee and county official in the Knox County courthouse for nearly 40 years, died Thursday, Feb. 10 in a Yankton, S.D. hospital. Death was caused by Hodgkin's disease. He had been ill about a year and a half. Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Edward Keller, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Weber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Weber, was born Aug. 10, 1901 in Knox County. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, having been baptized Sept. 10, 1901 at the Eden Valley Lutheran Church and confirmed in the same church on March 28, 1915. In 1930 he transferred his membership to Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton. He married Leona Anders on June 18, 1930. Two daughters were born to them. Mr. Weber served as treasurer of the church and on the church council for several years. For the past 36 years he had served as Knox County register of deeds, originally as an elected official and later as the appointed recording clerk, when the office became a part of the clerk's office. He served three years prior to this in the county treasurer's office, in charge of motor vehicle department. Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Alice) Wohlman of Hartington and Mrs. Donald (Jean) Hackett of Wichita, Kans.; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. N.W. (Edna) Berglund of Creighton; one brother, George of Creighton and two half sisters, Mrs. Fred (Gladys) Lortz and Mrs. Ed. (Mildred) Lorenz of Plainview.
