He was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School, Wapakoneta. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving four years in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapak. He was a charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8445 and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1272, both in Wapak. He loved to travel and never tired of relaying stories of family vacations, especially of a road trip to Alaska. He was passionate about hiking and taking photographs. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Patrick Sloneker, officiating.
