Description	:	William "Red" Howard Collier, age 89, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on April 2, 2011, at Alegent Mercy Hospital. William was born February 1, 1922, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to the late Edward and Zetta (Rown) Collier. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1940 and served his country in the U.S. Air Force from October 1942 through August 1945. He was also a member of the American Legion. William married Mary Jane Sorenson on July 2, 1948, at First Christian Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They were blessed with three children, Bruce, Gregory and Lori. William... William was City Circulation Manager for the Council Bluffs Nonpareil for 30 years and Charles, Inc. for 14 years. He retired in 1986. William was a member of the First Christian Church in Council Bluffs. William was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Martha Baldwin, Florence Roberts and Goldie Collier. William is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Jane (Sorenson) Collier; son, Bruce and wife, Sherrie Collier, of Lancaster, Ohio; son, Gregory and wife, Tammi Collier, of Corona, Calif.; and daughter, Lori and husband, Douglas Brown, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; grandchildren, Kellee and husband, Andy DeHainaut, of Pleasantville, Ohio, Kenneth and wife, Stephanie Collier, of Corona, Calif., Christina Collier, of Orient, Ohio, Candace and husband, Michael Houts, of Murietta, Calif., Michelle Collier, of Newark, Ohio, Melissa Collier, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and Scott Brown, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
