William Hyser, of Co. C, enrolled Aug. 23, 1861 in Ft. Wayne by Wm. Riley as a Private; mustered in Sep. 25, 1861 in Ft. Wayne by Maj. Carpenter at age 23. He was 6Π1 tall, dark complexion, blue eyes, and sandy hair. Born in Allen Co., IN, employed as a farmer, resided in Allen Co., IN. Discharged for disease Feb. 1, 1862 in Calhoun, KY with rank of Private. Notes: Probably brother to Jackson. Discharged for phthisis pulmonalis (TB) resulting from rubella and typhoid pneumonia. He filed Invalid Pension Application to receive Pension Certificate #373530 Apr. 14, 1881, in IN. Resident of Ft. Wayne 1880 and 1900; of Roanoke, Huntington Co., IN 1870 and 1891-92 where he died Sep. 17, 1903; buried in Glenwood IOOF Cemetery. Julia A. filed Widowfs Pension Application to receive Widowfs Pension Certificate #579568 Nov. 27, 1903, in IN.
