Description	:	William Janhsen Eilers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jann R. Eilers, was born in Strackholt, Germany, on October 31, 1869 and departed this life in a Tecumseh hospital on April 6, 1942 at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 6 days. He was baptized in the Christian faith in infancy. He was instructed in the Lutheran faith and confirmed on March 24, 1889 by Pastor R. Sanohen. His mother died when he was 8 years old. Eilers, was born in Strackholt, Germany, on October 31, 1869 and departed this life in a Tecumseh hospital on April 6, 1942 at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 6 days. He was baptized in the Christian faith in infancy. He was instructed in the Lutheran faith and confirmed on March 24, 1889 by Pastor R. Sanohen. His mother died when he was 8 years old. In the year 1800 he came to this country, living in this community until the Lord called him last Monday evening to his eternal home after being in failing health for several months. On September 15th, 1890 he was united in marriage to Margaretha Agena by Pastor Hanssen. On April 4, 1922 the Lord called her into His Heavenly Kingdom. On January 4, 1940 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Anna Dorsch of Sterling, Nebraska. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife. one brother, Reinert Eilers of Strackholt, Germany, one sister, Mrs. Dena Franzen of Gothenburg, Nebraska, a number of nephews and nieces, a number of stepchildren from his first and second marriage, and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:30 from Immanuel Lutheran Church , Sterling, Nebraska, on Thursday afternoon, April 9, 1942, the Rev. E. F. Frese, officiating . Pall Bearers were: Theodore Weyers, Eilert Boden, August C. Rathe, Henry Hoehne, Henry Diedrichs, John Huls. Internment was made in the Sterling cemetery.
