Description	:	William K. Orsborn, Sr., 80, of Kearney, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Saturday, April 16th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elm Creek. The Rev. Alex Borzych will officiate. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Elm Creek. According to his wishes Mr. Orsborn was cremated. O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home is serving the family. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. William Keith Orsborn was born on August 27, 1935 in the family home in Sitka, Kentucky to John and Malta Orsborn. The family soon moved to Cozad, Nebraska and eventually settled on a farm near Elm Creek. After attending country school through the 8th grade, he graduated from Elm Creek High School. He was united in marriage to Jeanette Siebenaler, and this union was blessed on May 30, 1952 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elm Creek. William and his family farmed for many years, it was during his early years on the farm that he learned his prayers prior to his baptism and confirmation into the Catholic community. The couple made their home in Elm Creek until 1987, when they moved to Kearney. William served in the National Guard for a period of four years and then in the Reserves for an additional two years. He also served on the Elm Creek Board of Education for several terms and the Elm Creek Catholic Cemetery Board. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, archery and flying his airplanes, whether large or small. Most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his loving wife, Jeanette of Kearney; their three daughters, Deb Turner and husband Ed of Pohatten, KS, Demaris Dietz and husband Christopher of Kearney and Diane Zodrow and husband Stephen of Oberlin, KS; grandchildren, Shane Miller of Minneapolis, MN, Sheri Miller-Nelson of Chilicothe, MO, Nick Turner of York, Emily Grabau and husband Andrew of Fort Collins, CO, Katie Hutton and husband Andrew of Omaha, Christian Grand and wife Alyssa of Fort Collins, CO, Stefan Karstens and wife Kathy of Gokels, Germany and Lars Karstens of Southaven, MS; his great grandchildren, Lane Nollendorfs of Lincoln, Brooke and Brendon Nelson of Chilicothe, MO, Paige and Harding Turner of York, Ella and Alexis Grabau of Fort Collins, CO, Lewis Hutton of Omaha, Avery Grant of Fort Collins, CO; a sister, Juanita Wenburg and husband Ken of Elm Creek, and a brother, Otto Orsborn of Kearney. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Jr.; sisters, Sadie Orsborn, Gloria Lind and Alberta Ekholm; and brothers, Jeptha, Kermit, Garry and Cogan Orsborn.
