They were the parents of Mary, George, William, Francis, Thomas, Leona, and Alice. The Sac Sun - Thursday , February 9th, 1928 - Early - Feb 8 - William Kelly, a widely known farmer, died at his home early Friday morning Feb 3, 1928, at the age of 72 years, 4 months, and 18 days, following a lingering illness resulting from a stroke of paralysis 4 years ago. The failing of his eye sight during his last days added a heavy burden to his helpless condition, but through it all he found happiness and comfort in the presence of his family. The funeral was held at 9 Monday morning at Sacred heart church. Burial was made in the Sacred Heart cemetery. The pall bearers were James Brady, Geo Rosenhauer, Frank Smith, Jacob Brinkman, Eugene Lang, and WP Gard. William Kelly was born near Colisburg, Delaware county, Iowa, Sept 15, 1853 and there grew to manhood. In the spring of 1880 his parents moved with their family to a farm in Sac county. In 1884 he married Miss Hannah Drey, daughter of a Sac county pioneer. They purchased a farm southeast of town where they have continuously lived for 44 years and which they occupied at the time of his death. He is survived by his widow and 6 children, namely: Mrs EP Lacey of Storm Lake; Will L Kelly of Chicago, Mrs PL South of Des Moines, Miss Alice Kelly of Garner; and George and Thomas of Early; 5 grandchildren; and 6 sisters and 2 brothers, namely: Mrs Kate Wald, San Jose, CA; Mrs George Evans and Mrs Nel Lehan, Mitchell, SD; Mrs Rose Drey, Breckenridge, MN; Mrs J P Methall, Sioux City; Mrs Charles Murray, Schaller; Frank Kelly Fort Collins, CO and Thomas Kelly of Early. The Odebolt Chronicle - Thursday , February 9th, 1928 - There was no school at Cook No . 7 Monday as the teacher, Miss Pauline Kelly attended the funeral of her uncle, William Kelly, in Early Monday morning. Mr. Kelly passed away Thursday night. - Rev. Fr. J.F. Finnegan and sister, Kate, of Gilmore City, attended the funeral services of Wm. Kelly Monday. They also visited friends here during their brief stay. The Odebolt Chronicle - Thursday , February 16th, 1928 - Mr. and Mrs. Will Kelly who were called to this community last week by the death of their father, William Kelly, returned to their home in Chicago Thursday.
