Maryborough Chronicle, Wide Bay and Burnett Tue 3 Mar 1931 Obituary A well-known and respected resident of Burrum, Mr. William Kerr, aged, 85 years and 9 months, passed away at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. J. H. Willday (Torbanlea) yesterday. Deceased was born at Whitburn, county of Linlithgow, Scotland, and came out to Australia in the sailing ship 'Maulsden,' landing at Maryborough, on May 12, 1883. He had resided in Burrum for the past 49 years and leaves a sorrowing wife, four sons and five daughters. The sons are Robert (N.S.W.) John (Torbanlea), Thomas (Burrum) and David (Torbanlea), and the daughters, Mesdames J. Sneddon (Torbanlea), A. Pollard (Dundowran),S Turnbull (Howard) and J. H . Willday (Torbanlea), and N. Howard (Maryborough). .There were 36 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Five sons and one daughter predeceased Mr. Kerr, two sons being killed in the Great War. The funeral took place from the residence of his daughter at Torbanlea yesterday afternoon, and was largely attended by relatives and friends. Three immortelles, from 'His Sons,' 'Daughters' and the Burgowan Coal Company, and a large number of floral wreaths were received. The pall bearers from the house to the hearse were Messrs. David, John, and Thomas Kerr (sons), and A. Pollock, S. Turnbull and J. Sneddon (Sons-ln-law), and from the hearse to the graveside Messrs, J. Kerr, W. Kerr, C Willday, W Turnbull, D. Kerr and J.
