Description	:	William Kirkpatrick's obituary that appeared in the Sargent Leader newspaper issue of Nov. 26, 1925. The Leader received an obituary this week from the Gresham paper containing the obituary for Wm Kirkpatrick. Mr. Kirkpatrick was for many years a resident of Loup County and several years at Sargent. It was while living in this city that he married Mrs. Mary Hendrickson, mother of Chas. Hendrickson of this city. Wm Kirkpatrick was born Kosciusko Co. Ind. Oct. 13, 1844. It was while living in this city that he married Mrs. Mary Hendrickson, mother of Chas. Hendrickson of this city. Wm Kirkpatrick was born Kosciusko Co. Ind. Oct. 13, 1844. When 10 years old his family moved to Warren Co. Ill and 2 years later to McLean County where he grew up. At the time of the Civil War he enlisted in Co. B, 150th Regiment of Ill. Inf. Vol. In 1867 he went to Kansas. In 1875 married Nancy Jo Walker and in 1885 came to Custer County, Nebr. and settled near Taylor where with others they hewed out their home under pioneer conditions. Left alone by the death of his wife, Nancy, he later married Mrs. Mary J. Hendrickson Oct. 13, 1908. He died Nov. 14, 1925. Interment Cedar Lawn Cemetery (Gresham). Survived by his wife, a brother Ed H. Kirkpatrick of Paul, Idaho and a sister, Lizzie Caldwell of 900 Fremont St. Manhattan, Kansas.
