He was born in Howard County on September 19, 1926, the son of Milo and Savillo Hochstedler Bontrager. Pete married Miriam L. Sommers on December 8, 1945 and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife Miriam is a son, M. Dean Bontrager and his wife Margi of Kokomo, Indiana, daughters, Barbara Musselman and her husband George of Denver, Indiana, Joyce Troyer and her husband Herbert of Fishers, Indiana and Claris Yoder and her husband Lance of Indianapolis, Indiana, a brother Emanuel Bontrager of Greentown, Indiana, grandchildren, Michael (Paige) Bontrager, Jeffrey (Megan) Bontrager, Carmen (Brent) Hoober, Anne (Jeffery) Weaver, Julie (Donald) Sanders, Lindsay (Eric) Starr, Blair Yoder and his fiancé Stephanie Boldon and Jake Musselman and great grandchildren William Bontrager, Mallory Bontrager, Whitney Bontrager Brady Hoober, Reid Hoober, Audrey Hoober, James Weaver and two great grandchildren on their way. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Matthew Musselman and great granddaughter Emma Hoober. A service celebrating the life of William “Pete” Bontrager will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday April 30, 2015 at the Howard Miami Mennonite Church, 3976 E. 1400 S., Kokomo, Indiana with Pastor Ben Schlegel officiating. Burial will be in the Mast Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 4:00-8:00 PM Wednesday at the Howard Miami Mennonite Church. Eddy Funeral Home - April 25, 2015
