"Bill" Shouse, age 85, of Shelbyville, MO, passed away Friday, February 27, 2009, at approximately 10:30 a.m. at his home in Shelbyville. He was born March 24, 1923, in Shelbyville, MO, the son of Charles Lee and Elva Clark Kelso. On April 23, 1946, he was united in marriage to Margery Ellen Smoot at Bethel, MO. She survives. Bill is also survived by one daughter, Nancy Schneblin and her husband Rich of Bethel, MO; one sister, Maureta Smoot of Bethel, MO, and one brother, Donald Shouse and his wife Marilyn of Shelbyville, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bill was a member of the Bethel Christian Church and a 1941 graduate of Bethel High School. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and often played TAPS at funerals for members of the organization. Bill was a grain and livestock farmer in Shelby County. He sold crop insurance and was an employee of Cerro Copper Tubing Factory in Shelbina for seven years. His greatest joys were traveling and visiting with family and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Bethel Christian Church, Bethel, MO, at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 2, 2009, with burial to follow at the Shelby Memorial Cemetery in Shelbyville, MO. Visitation will be held at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO, on Sunday, March 1, 2009, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the Bethel Christian Church or the Community Hospices of America in Macon, MO.
