Roy Coleman, 27, former Ottumwan, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday at a hospital in San Diego, Calif. The son of Frederick J. and Elmira [sic] Coleman, he was born in Queen City, Mo., April 2, 1916. He moved to California from Ottumwa just a year ago and had been working for the Consolidated Aircraft Corp. He is a former employe of John Morrell & Co. Besides his parents, who live in Ottumwa, he is survived by his wife, Alta, a daughter Carol Ann, and a son, Freddie, living at San Diego; two sisters, Mrs. James Chesser and Mrs. Fred Chadwick, both of Ottumwa, and two brothers, Woodrow B. and Donald E. Coleman, both of San Diego. A.D. McClure and the Rev. Roscoe Morrison. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. The casket will be taken to the home of Mr. Coleman’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick J. Coleman, 1032 South Weller street, at 5 p.m. Tuesday and will be returned to the chapel at 12 o’clock noon, Wednesday.
