Description	:	William Loran Cooksey, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Cooksey, pioneer Fillmore County settlers, was born October 4, 1887, at Geneva, Neb. He passed away at his home in Exeter November 7, 1950, at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 3 days. He had made his home at Exeter a number of years. At one time he was employed by Henry Burress and later by Howard Voigtlander in the well business, also spending several years at farm work. Cooksey, pioneer Fillmore County settlers, was born October 4, 1887, at Geneva, Neb. He passed away at his home in Exeter November 7, 1950, at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 3 days. He had made his home at Exeter a number of years. At one time he was employed by Henry Burress and later by Howard Voigtlander in the well business, also spending several years at farm work. Two years ago in May, he took ill and has been unable to work since that time. He was one of a family of nine children. Those surviving are Mrs. Maude Williams of Grand Junction, Col., Earle E. Cooksey of Carleton, and Mrs. Grace Kelch of Geneva; a brother-in-law, J. J. Dinneen of Exeter; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He had a large circle of friends. Funeral services were held at the Farmer Funeral home in Exeter at 2 p.m. Friday, November 10th, with Rev. Maude V. Mann of Geneva officiating. Pallbearers were Leo P. Murphy, John Spitz, John Kennedy, William Beranek, Robert Gibbons, and John Minich. Interment was in the family plot in the Geneva Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal November 16th, 1950 page 12.
