The funeral was on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 from the Pine Grove Baptist Church. In charge of Watson-King Funeral home. Conducting the service was Rev. J. Marvin Smith assisted by Rev. J. H. Clark, pastor of this church. Burial in Eastside Cemetery here. Luther White was born Nov. 3, 1913, son of William Holmes and Wilma Gaddy White. Among his survivors are his two children William Holmes (Billy) White, 19 and a daughter Duele, 13. There are three sisters - Miss Laura and Mary White and Mrs. Barton Howell of Columbia. The two brothers are Raymond and B.H. White. Also there are two aunts Miss Lilly white and Mrs. J. J. Parker of Vass; and several neices and nephews. The White family is a closely knit family, living in the same community and most of them still associated in their farming and grocery store activities. The community has lost a substantial citizen in Luther White, and a wide circle of friends join in regret at his passing. He was married to Virginia Clark daughter of Elmore Clark and Addie Mae Rainwater Clark about 1935.
