Hare, at the Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine, Iowa, with Elder Francis Harper officiating the 10:30 a.m. final rites. Nancy Foutch served as organist. The selections were "On Eagles' Wings," "How Great Thou Art," and "Amazing Grace." Honorary bearers were Joan Powley, Maxine Murphy, Marifrances Stueve, Dorothy Warner, Dr. Maurice Montag, Bog Stueve and Oscar Johnson. Bearers were Marty Nelson, Tom Murphy, Robert Powley, Jerry Stueve, Bob Heffernan and Alan Schwertley. Interment was in the Woodbine Cemetery, Woodbine, Iowa. William M. Hare was born May 17, 1911, to Glad and Bessie (Young) Hare, in Woodbine. He attended Woodbine High School. William was united in marriage to Nancy A. Briggs on February 28, 1934, in Norfolk, Nebraska. To this union two children were born, Kay and Roger. William farmed in the Woodbine area until retiring from the farm in 1971. He built a new home and woodworking shop in 1972. At that time he began pursuing his hobby of being full-time wood craftsman, something he loved all of his life. He worked at crafting furniture, grandfather clocks, repairing furniture, and passing on some of his skills to others who would take the time to learn. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bernard. Survivors include his wife, Nancy, one daugh-ter, Kay Satchell of Kerrville, Texas, one son, Roger Hare of Tipton, Indiana, one brother, Wallace of Logan, Iowa, four grandsons, other relatives and many friends. --------------------- The Woodbine Twiner Woodbine, Iowa September 15, 1993
