Description	:	William Spotts was the son of Ludwig and Catherine Spotts- Spatz [German Spelling of Spotts]. The Spotts were a large family in Heidelberg and Tulpehocken Twp., Berks Co., Pa and Ludwig and Catherine moved to 1st Norwegian Twp., Schuylkill Co., Pa. then to Danville, Montour Co., Pa.. I also have the large obituary for William Spotts and the name of the father, "Ludwig" is misspelled but the mother was "Catherine" not Louisa.. Williams brother Edward Spotts who died in 1887 in Pa. is my family line, his other siblings in Penn have Pa death certificates that list the parents and... The first 3 months were in Libby prison, then he was transferred to the horrors of Andersonville prison where he was held when the war closed.
