The deceased was 38 years of age. He entered the Union Bank here shortly that institution opened its branch in Carleton Place, and advanced rapidly in the service, becoming manager at Metcalf and at other branches whilst still quite young, and finally drifted to the west where the opportunities were broader and responsibility greater. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Cochrane of Russell, and three children. His fatal illness was cancer. The remains were brought here for interment, the funeral taking place Saturday afternoon from the C.P.R. depot on arrival of the western train to the 8th Line Ramsay cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev A.A. Scott. Mr McPherson was much esteemed by all who knew him, both in and out of the service, and his early demise is most deeply regretted. At the funeral on Saturday the entire staff of the Union Bank here turned out in a body to pay their last tribute of respect
