(Source: Johnson County, NE Marriage Records) ============================ The Guide Rock Signal (Guide Rock, NE), Thursday, June 20, 1929; pg. 1 William Marshall Dixon The subject of this obituary was born November 17, 1861 at Zanesville, Ohio, and died June 11, 1929, at his home in Mt. Clare, Nebraska, at the age of 67 years, 6 months, and 25 days. At the age of seven he moved from Ohio to Illinois and from there to eastern part of Nebraska in 1884. He was married to Addie Alberta Sutherland at Tecumseh, Nebraska, February 21, 1885. He and his companion moved to Bostwick in April of the same year. To this union six sons were born: William S. of Council Bluffs, Iowa; John R. of Denver, Colorado; Robert D. deceased; Virgil T. of Bostwick; George C. of Mt. Clare; and Gordon S. of Superior. Besides these and his companion, he is also survived by a brother, John M. of Denver, and ten grandchildren. He joined the Methodist Church of Bostwick in 1892, later transferring his membership to the Presbyterian church of Superior. He was a kind. loving husband and father. He was ever ready to help a neighbor in need. He was a hardworking, upright, honest man, and as such he will be missed by those who knew him best. One living as long as be has in one community becomes a part of its very fiber, and leaves a long line of those who will remember the things he did and said that have helped to shape a hundred other lives. "It is not all of life to live, nor all of death to die, but after these the judgment and an existence unending in a realm beyond the stars." A short service was held at his late home in Mt. Clare on Friday morning which was followed by the regular funeral services at 10 o'clock at the Methodist church at Bostwick, Rev. B.F. Eberhart preaching the sermon. A quartet composed of Luther Smith, Joe Hammel, Mrs. J. W. Kirkbride, and Mrs. Milton Willett sang several of the old hymns with Miss Daisy Needham playing the accompaniment. The floral offerings were very beautiful. Interment was made in the Superior cemetery.
