He died Feb. 3rd, 1919 at *Neosho Park, Kan. being at the time of death 71 years, 1 month and 13 days of age. He grew up to young manhood in Illinois and was married to Miss Martha Archer in 1868. He died Feb. 3rd, 1919 at Neosho Park, Kan. being at the time of death 71 years, 1 month and 13 days of age. He grew up to young manhood in Illinois and was married to Miss Martha Archer in 1868. To this union were born five children, the eldest of whom, a son, died in early infancy. The other four grew to manhood and womanhood. Of these four, two sons and two daughters, three are left to mourn their father's death. One daughter, Mrs. Carrie Strode, died in 1903. The other daughter, Mrs. Nellie Williams and two sons, Clarence and Jess, survive their father. Mr. McClure and wife and two daughters came to Kansas nearly forty years ago and settled near Cherokee on a farm. They have lived near Cherokee ever since. Mrs. McClure died nineteen years ago leaving a husband and two young boys to face the world alone. Both daughters being married and gone, Mr. McClure and the boys were forced to keep house the best they could. Uncle Billy, as every one knew and called him, succeeded in keeping his boys together and lived to see them grow up into vigorous manhood.
