William Matousek was born February 14, 1898, at St. Paul, the youngest son of John and Rosella (Trubl) Matousek. He grew to manhood in the Midway community where he received his education after which he farmed. On February 24, 1925, he married Rose Partsch at Elba and the couple farmed in the Midway area until 1962 when he retired and moved into St. Paul. He has been a lifelong member of the Catholic faith. Mr. Matousek has been in failing health the past six months. He entered the hospital in St. Paul on Friday morning, March 21 where he died Saturday evening, March 22. He was 77 years of age. He is survived by his wife Rose of St. Paul; a son Dale of St. Paul; a sister, Clara Matousek; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Frank, Joe, Charles, Fred and John; four sisters, Mrs. Katherine Kissel, Mrs. Marie Trook, Mrs. Lena Ambrose and Mrs. Emma Painter.
