He was born and reared in the South Bethany neighborhood, leaving there to make his home in Perrysville 30 years ago. He had been ill for a week and death followed a stroke of paralysis. Survivors include two sons and three daughters. His wife died two years ago. Mrs. Isaac Evans of East Columbus and Mrs. James Vanest of Newbern are sister-in-laws.
