Bill, son of Marion "Bud" James and Ellen (Sullivan) Moran, was born March 10, 1940 at Omaha, Nebraska. Bill was baptized and confirmed in Omaha. Read More	William Michael "Bill" Moran, of Norfolk, Nebraska, formerly of St. Edward, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Faith Regional Hospital Health Services, Norfolk, Nebraska. Bill, son of Marion "Bud" James and Ellen (Sullivan) Moran, was born March 10, 1940 at Omaha, Nebraska. Bill was baptized and confirmed in Omaha. He received his education at St. Edward (NE.)Public Schools, graduating from St. Edward (NE.) High School in 1958. He attended one year at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Nebraska, then went to work at Western Electric in 1959. On July 9, 1960, Bill was united in marriage to Deanna Novotny at St. Cecilia Cathedral in Omaha, Nebraska. Bill continued to work at Western Electric until he was drafted into the US Army, serving from 1963 to 1965. Bill & Deanna then moved back to St. Edward, Nebraska. Bill worked for Dale Electronics in Columbus, Nebraska until they built a new plant in Norfolk and he transferred there. In 1970, they moved back to Omaha, Nebraska where Bill worked in manufacturing. In 1974, they returned to St. Edward, Nebraska and he worked for Middle State Mfg. in Columbus, Nebraska and St. Edward, Nebraska, setting up their equipment in the USA, Canada, and Europe. In 1983, he bought the Middle State Building in St. Edward, Nebraska and started Moran Machine & Repair, which he operated for 18 years until 2001 when he sold the shop and moved to Norfolk, Nebraska. Bill then sold ag equipment 3 years for Big John Mfg. In 2005, he bought a semi truck, going over the road pulling a refrigerated trailer and later a dump trailer for May Trucking in Dixon, Nebraska. Bill was a member of the St. Edward Catholic Church, St. Edward, Nebraska and later a member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Norfolk, Nebraska. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Norfolk, Nebraska American Legion Crosier Post # 226 of St. Edward, Nebraska where he served for a time as Legion Commander and he also served as president of the St. Edward (NE.)Community Club. Bill's favorite pastimes were collecting things as well as joining in the lip-sync contest at Beaver Valley Days. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Bill is survived by: wife, Deanna Moran of Norfolk, NE; children, Annette (Roland) Knox of Ellendale, North Dakota, Brad Moran and friend Kim Jensen of Leshara, Nebraska and Scott Moran and friend Cecelia Grotz of Central City, Nebraska; grandson, Conner Moran of Columbus, Nebraska; step-grandchildren: Kierra Knox of Fargo, North Dakota, Colton Knox of Aberdeen, South Dakota and Tony Knox of Caldwell, Idaho; brother, Bob (Ginny) Moran of Jamestown, Norh Dakota; nephew, Dan Moran of Topeka, Kansas; niece, Mary (Chris) Thurin of Northfield, Minnesota and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by parents and son, Michael James Moran in infancy. Interment was in the St. Edward Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Edward, Nebraska, with Military Rites conducted by the American Legion Crosier Post #226 of St. Edward, Nebraska.
