Read More	The Valley Falls New Era (Valley Falls, Kansas) 15 Apr 1915, Thu OBITUARY - ANDERSON William Newton Anderson was born at Newcomerstown, Ohio, April 7, 1837, and died in a hospital at San Diego March 31, 1915, aged 77 years, 11 months and 24 days. In an early day he came to Kansas and at Lecompton, March 16, 1866, was married to Miss Libbie J. Weaver, eldest sister of Mrs. C. C. Lard of Valley Falls. After the marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson made their home at Newcomerstown until 1871, when after living at Valley Falls about one year, they located at Waterville, Kansas, living there some 18 years. In 1889 they moved to Sheridan county, Nebraska, where they homesteaded the land and established a cattle ranch in which they were successful, and where he has since made his home. For the past three years he has been spending the winters with his sons in Fallbrook, California, his last trip being made in the fall of 1914, at which time he contracted a severe cold in crossing the mountains, from which he did not seem to rally and which, with other complications setting in, was the immediate cause of his death at the hospital to which he was taken. The body, accompanied by his sons, C.A. and F.B, arrived in Valley Falls Sunday evening and was taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Lord where the funeral services conducted by Rev. A. L. Wood, were held Tuesday morning. He was for years a member of the United Brethren Church, but recently had lived too remote from a church to enjoy its priveleges. He was a member of the A.F. & A.M. at Fallbrook, Cali., having been raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason at the age of 21 years. The body was laid to rest in Rose Hill cemetery by the side of his wife, with the ceremonies of the Masonic order which he loved.
