He was the son of Benjamin and Martha Bogenrief of Freeport, Ill., born September 8, 1865. Mr. Bogenrief came to Plymouth County, Iowa, when he was 17 years old with his mother and brothers. Read More	WILLIAM BOGENRIEF CALLED BY DEATH Many relatives and friends mourn the passing of William Bogenrief, 79, a resident of Plymouth County for 62 years, who died Monday in the Sacred Heart Hospital at LeMars. He was the son of Benjamin and Martha Bogenrief of Freeport, Ill., born September 8, 1865. Mr. Bogenrief came to Plymouth County, Iowa, when he was 17 years old with his mother and brothers. He was married February 2, 1886, to Mary Jane Grist of Wabash, Indiana. They moved onto a farm in the Melbourne community, Plymouth Township. To this union seven children were born of whom all survive except one son, Oscar, who died in infancy. Mr. Bogenrief was active in community affairs and was a member and trustee of the Melbourne church for many years. He farmed in this community until the spring of 1924, when they moved to Merrill. He was preceded in death by his wife who passed away January 11, 1941. He leaves to mourn his death, two daughters, Mrs. Clara Julch, James, Iowa; and Mrs. Eva Conrad, Jasper, Minn.; four sons, Arthur and George of Merrill; Adlai of Hinton; and William Jr. of Sioux City; two brothers, Douglas, of Sioux City, and Otto, of Minneapolis; and a half sister, Mrs. Edith Conover of LeMars; 11 grandchildren, of which three are in the armed forces, and six great grandchildren. Taken ill with a stroke on July 20 he was taken to the Sacred Heart Hospital where he passed away on August 18. Funeral services were held at the Melbourne Evangelical church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. G.O. Thompson officiating.
