Description	:	It becomes our sad duty this week to chronicle the death of Mrs. John Gerling which occurred at her home one mile west of Evansville at 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning. The funeral was held from the M. E. church at Ireton at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon Rev. J. B. Edwards of Ireton had charge of the service and preached a very interesting sermon containing many words of comfort and cheer to the sorrowing family. Martha Gerling was born in Junita county, Pennsylvania, June 30, 1842, and died October 21, 1905, being sixty three years, four months and one day old at the time of her death. At the age of eight years she moved with her parents to Stephens county, Illinois. In 1859, she was united in marriage with Benjamin Bogenrief, and to this union nine children were born, seven of whom survive. In the year 1880, she was married to John Gerling and to this union two children were born. Mrs. Gerling came west with her husband in 1884, and settled in Plymouth county where they have since resided. The deceased leaves besides a husband and nine children, three brothers and three sisters to mourn her departure. The many friends of the family sympathize with them in their bereavement.
