He was a member of Mt Prospect Lodge of Masons and was 59 years of age. He had been Deputy Sheriff of the county for several years and was the highway surveyor for some years. He had been agent of the American Express Company here for twelve years. He is survived by his wife, his father of Laconia and a sister of Dorchester. The Ashland Citizen, March 23, 1901, p4.
