Description	:	Highland Recorder April 26, 1935 William Peter Buchanan Lockridge born Dec. 24, 1857 (1856 on headstone), died at his home in Bullpasture river valley, near Burnsville, Monday night, April 8. He had been suffering of paralysis for several years. The third stroke, was the cause of his death. He was a son of William Lockridge and Nancy Susan Burns Lockridge. He was a descendant of the following revolutionary soldiers: Capt. David Given, James Carlyle, Major Andrew Lockridge and John Burns. In 1883 he married Miss Jane Huffer of Augusta county. He had been suffering of paralysis for several years. The third stroke, was the cause of his death. He was a son of William Lockridge and Nancy Susan Burns Lockridge. He was a descendant of the following revolutionary soldiers: Capt. David Given, James Carlyle, Major Andrew Lockridge and John Burns. In 1883 he married Miss Jane Huffer of Augusta county. She preceded him to the grave several years ago. They were the parents of nine children me of whom one is dead, Mrs. Arlie Carpenter. The following children survive: Lucius, near Burnsville; Emory, of Gough, South Carolina; William Jr., at home; Mrs. Blanche Graham, McDowell; Mrs. Tracy Neal, Lone Fountain; Mrs. Carrie Atkinson, California; Mrs. Nellie Middleton, West Virginia; Mrs. Mildred Curry of Augusta county; one brother Geo. M. Lockridge of Flood, also survives. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 10 by his pastor, the Rev. Mr. Hodges of the Methodist Church, South. Interment was in the family burial ground by the side of his wife.
