| Description | : | William R. DeMar(originally Demar) was born in Woodville (now Aquasco) Prince George's County, Maryland. He married Martha Beaven (aka Biven) about 1846 in Maryland. They moved from Prince George's County, Maryland to Iowa 1849-50. Martha died after the birth of their 5th child. In 1855, William remarried to Nevesta Smith and they had 8 children. He died after the 1880 census was taken. The children placed a gravestone in the cemetery that reads: In Memory of Father and Mother, with no dates inscribed. |
