Talbot Co., Maryland between 1760 & 1762. 1774-1775 - Represented Anson County, North Carolina at the State Assembly. (In 1779, the part of Anson County where William lived, became Richmond County). 1776 - Patriot in Revolutionary War. 1788 - Born into Quaker family and left the faith at some point. After Robert's death Jane married her daughter, Mary's father-in-law, Tristram Thomas. PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS: TRISTRAM THOMAS (ca. 1664-1746)- Born in England, came to America as a toddler. After Judith's death, he married his son's mother-in-law, Jane Kemp. JUDITH CLAYLAND (ca. 1674-1720) - Married Tristram about 1699. * * * * * * * MATERNAL GREAT GRANDPARENTS: REV. JAMES CLAYLAND (ca. 1648-1699)- He was one of the first Church of England ministers to come to America.
