In respect to Mr. Fields, business places of Tipton closed during the funeral services conducted on a Thursday at two o'clock at Wilson's Funeral Home. William Rosecrans Fields was born March 30, 1863, the son of Henry and Rosetta Fields, in the Lisbon vicinity. He was married in 1886 to Hattie Filson, who preceded him in death. He later married Mrs. Mary McCake, who survives him, together with two children by his first wife, Forrest Fields, Tipton, and Mrs. Harold A. Penningroth, Dobbs Ferry, New York. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter and one son. Rev. Van Buren officiated at the funeral services conducted. O. J. Myer sang "The End of a Perfect Day," "Your Best Friend Is Always Near." Interment was in the Masonic cemetery. Mrs. Harold A. Penningroth came from Dobbs, Ferry, N. Y., to attend the services.
