He was born February 14, 1922 in Manning, Kansas, the son of John O'Neal and Myrtle "Yates" O'Neal and was the sixth of ten children. Rex graduated from Manning High School in 1940. Read More	William "Rex" O'Neal, 88, died Auguat 31, 2010 at the Arkansas Valley Community Hospital in LaJunta, Colorado. He was born February 14, 1922 in Manning, Kansas, the son of John O'Neal and Myrtle "Yates" O'Neal and was the sixth of ten children. Rex graduated from Manning High School in 1940. After school he drove the school bus at Manning and it was during that time that he meet the love of his life, Thelma Glenn, who taught at Manning. On Sunday, August 22, 1943, he married Thelma Irene Glenn at the Baptist Church Amy, Kansas. Thelma passed away August 1, 2005, just short of their Sixty Second wedding anniversary. To this union six children were born: Sherrill Rexine Tubbs of Scott City, Carroll Dean of Eads, Colorado, Ronald Ray of Wiley, Colorado, Donna Sue of Lubbock, Texas, Patsy O'Neal of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Rex Eugene of Eads, Colorado. They had four Complimenty chi8ldren, Gregg and Rene Loutzenhuser and Jeff and Kathy Richie all of Flagler, Colorado. Rex brought his family up to love the Lord and to install to each of them the love for family and to live well, laugh often and love much. Family was so importaant to Rex and he taught all his children the value of loving other unconditionally. Rex was a farmer and racher in the Manning and Dry Lake communities in Scott County until moving to Flagler in the Spring of 1963 and in 2000 Rex and Theleka moved to Eads to he closer to the boys. From 1969 until 1981 he was a partner with the O'Neal-Tubbs-ShortHarvest Crew, following the harvest from Texas to the Canadian boarder. Rex served on the Flagler School Board and was a member of the Jolly Dozen Pitch Club and a 4-H Leader. If someone needed help or there was a need in the community you would always find Rex there to help. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Myrtle O'Neal, his wife Thelma, sister, Veltae Bird, brothers, Russell, Ralph, Glendle, Johnnie, Charles, and Connie, Son-in-law Albert Tubbs, Brother in-laws Bob Waugh, Harry Glenn and Bob Birds; Dora Smith, Margaret O'Neal, Isebelle O'Neal, and Billie O'Neal and neide Pam Shearer and complimentary granddaughter Amber Richie. A "Celbration of His Life" was held Wednesday Wednesday, August 24, at 11:00 at the Dighton Memorial Cemetery in Dighton, Kansas with Reverend John O'Neal and Mr. Rod Burd Officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Flagler.Seibert Ambulance Fund or the Kowa County Home Health in care of Sherrill Tubbs or Brown Funeral Home Box 432, Eads, Colorado.
