Born on February 1, 1936 in Napoleon, Ohio, Bill was the son of the late William Edward and Martha (Gerken) Plassman. On August 30, 1958 Bill was united in marriage to Nancy Loretta Rosebrock at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Defiance, Ohio. Bill attended North Richland Adams High School and graduated in 1958. Read More	William R. Plassman, 82, of Hicksville, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Hickory Creek in Hicksville. Born on February 1, 1936 in Napoleon, Ohio, Bill was the son of the late William Edward and Martha (Gerken) Plassman. On August 30, 1958 Bill was united in marriage to Nancy Loretta Rosebrock at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Defiance, Ohio. Bill attended North Richland Adams High School and graduated in 1958. In the same year he earned his Associates degree in Accounting from the International Business College. Bill continued his education and graduated in 1971 from Defiance College with a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics and Business. Bill served in the National Guard from 1954-1960. While in the National Guard he began his professional career at Allied Mills Feed Company. He later was employed at Defiance Hospital. In 1972 Bill became the Administrator of Community Memorial Hospital in Hicksville, retiring after serving 24 years. Bill was an active member of the Hicksville community. He served on the council at his church, St John Lutheran. He was a member and past president of the Hicksville Rotary Club and was honored as the Citizen of the Year in 1993. For 28 years Bill served on the board and was past president of the Hicksville Building, Loan & Savings Bank. He enjoyed his time in the Low German Club of Henry County. Bill is survived by two sons, Eric (Jenny) and Jeff; a daughter, Heidi (Jochen) Glaubitz; five grandchildren, Heather, Landen, Madison, Samuel, Anneliese; siblings, Wilma Fruth, Frances Grieser and Loren Plassman. Preceding him in death were his wife, Nancy, and his siblings, Lenora Flory and Lucia Plassman. Funeral services for Bill will be Tuesday at 11:00 at St. John Lutheran Church, Hicksville. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
