Description	:	William S. Harritt, 73, York county (sic) resident for the past 31 years and a retired York business man, died at his home, 830 East Main avenue (sic), on Tuesday night at 11:30 o'clock. Mr. Harritt had been in failing health for more than a year. His condition became serious Sunday night. The deceased was born in Indiana June 23, 1865. Mr. Harritt had been in failing health for more than a year. His condition became serious Sunday night. The deceased was born in Indiana June 23, 1865. In 1872 his parents and the family moved to Nebraska and settled in Nuckolls county (sic) where he resided for many years. In 1908 Mr. Harritt and his family came to York. He spent a number of years in the grocery business in this city before disposig (sic) of his store in 1929. Since disposing of his business he has retired. Surviving are his widow, one son, Hugh C. of York; two daughters, Miss Blanche Harritt, a teacher at Hastings, and Mrs. Jesse St. John of Kyburz, Calif.; three brothers, A.M. Harritt of Portland, Ore., O.G. Harritt of Watonga, Okla., and R.F. Harritt of Nelson; and one sister, Mrs. D.R. Martin of Geneva. Gene Dunken, a nephew of the deceased, now residing in California, made his home with the Harritt family for many years and was closely affiliated with the family. Funeral services will be held at the United Brethren church (sic), probably on Sunday afternoon, at two o'clock. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery (sic). -- York News-Times-May 10.
