Prudence was the first of three wives William had during his life. William is buried next to Prudence in the Geneva Cemetery at Geneva, Neb. The Neb. Nicholas died at his home at Elgin, Neb., Friday, April 3, 1936, his age was seventy-three years. Mr. Nicholas is survived by his sons, Lester of Seattle, Alva of Elgin, Neb., Will of Halsey, Ore., and Edward; by two daughters, Mrs. Albert Rosenquist of Montana and Mrs. Elsie Donovan of Venice, Cal. Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas had been making their home with Alva Nicholas at Elgin. Burial was at 5 o’clock Saturday afternoon in the Geneva cemetery beside the body of Mr. Nicholas’ first wife. A short service was conducted at the grave by Rev. W. H. Shoaf. Mr. Nicholas was in the furniture and hardware business in Geneva about five years. His establishment was located in the building new occupied by the Sunbeam Theater. Among those attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Alva Nicholas of Elgin and their son and wife and their two daughters; Orville Nicholas of Stanton, a nephew, a student at the state university; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Rosenquist of Montana and son, wife and little daughter. The relatives were entertained at supper Saturday evening by Mrs. Kate Curtis, an old friend of the family."
