Isenberger William Slade Isenberger, the youngest of nine children of Cathern and Jacob Isenberger, was born in Clarke county, Iowa, July 26, 1885 and passed away at the home of his birth near Truro, on April 7, 1956 at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 12 days. Isenberger William Slade Isenberger, the youngest of nine children of Cathern and Jacob Isenberger, was born in Clarke county, Iowa, July 26, 1885 and passed away at the home of his birth near Truro, on April 7, 1956 at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 12 days. On April 4,1917 he was united in marriage to Daisy Cora McCreery. To this union four children were born: Alpha C. Fierce of Pearl Blossom, Calif.; Ina Ruth Carnahan of Des Moines, and William J. of Fort Calhoun, Nebr.; also John Franklin who preceded him in death. His early life was spent in the same friendly neighborhood where he passed so quietly from this life. William's life work was spent in farming. He loved and enjoyed many of nature's commonplace miracles, so dear, yet ordinary to a tiller of the soil. His way of life was being a good neighbor, a dependable friend in time of need. For many years he was associated with the Modern Woodmen of America. He leaves to mourn his passing, besides his wife, Daisy, and children: one sister, Mrs. Helen Eads of Truro; two sons-in-law, Hugh R. Carnahan and Ernest H. Fierce; one daughter-in-law, Deloris K. Isenberger. He also leaves to mourn his death 13 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends. Funeral services, in charge of Kale Funeral home at Truro, were held in the Fremont church, Tuesday, April 10 at 2 p. m., conducted by Rev. Archie Beals of Russell, Iowa. Interment was in the Fremont cemetery. The casket bearers were Mr. Isenberger's nephews, Leo Work, Herbert Work, Ralph Craig, Albert Eads, John Isenberger and Harold Isenberger. Those attending from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Harley Work, Swea City; Mrs. Bessie, Koans, Fairmont, Minn.; Herbert Work, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Work and daughter, Cathleen, all of Newton; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Saxton, Dodge Center, Minn.; Mrs. Ruby Johnson, Algona; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Craig, Armstrong; Mr. and Mrs. C. O. McCleery, and Mrs. Doris Hess, Reinbeck; Mrs. John Hagerdorn, Millno, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Carnahan and children, Mrs. Doyle Gracey, Mrs. Roy McCarl, Des Moines; Mrs. Orle Glass, E. H. Fierce and sons and Mrs. C. M. Fierce of Lucas; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Isenberger of Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska.
