Description	:	After a short prayer service at, the Lawrence funeral home at 12:30 Saturday, noon, the funeral services for the late, William Stockman, Sr., an honored, resident of Yell township, were held from the Gospel Tabernacle at the Four Corners. The services were conducted by the Rev. Chas. Davis, a lifelong, friend of the deceased. Music was furnished for the service by Mesdames Sam Hull and V. O. Ray and Miss Blancho and Zetta Ray assisted by Miss B. Ray at the organ. They sang, "Saved by Going Down the Valley,” Shall We Meet”, “Nearer My God To Thee” and “Does Jesus... Slaughter, John Haglund and Henry Burgess. Burial was in the Bluff Creek cemetery in the family lot beside the wife of the deceased. LIFE SKETCH William Stockman Sr., was born in Denmark, October 26, 1849, he died May 6, 1920 at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 10 days. He was united to Miss Kate Birmingham in 1881, who passed away January 9, 1913 from injuries received in a runaway He leaves to mourn his departure, four daughters, Mary E. Nutt of Boone Ia., Isabelle Kornegor, Rockford, IA., Anna Fyock of Odgen, Ia., Sarah Vance of Boone, Ia.; two sons William Jr. and Rutherford B. Stockman of Hickory Grove, Ia. One daughter Mrs. Katie Efcamp having preceded him in death dying Oct. 27 1918. He also leaves twelve grandsons five granddaughters and one great grandson. Mr. Stockman has been a resident of Yell township for about 40 years first being employed as a coal miner and later as a farmer. About two years ago he retired and has spent most, of his time living at the homes of his two sons and youngest daughter Mrs., Sarah at whose home he passed away upon the above mentioned date. Mr. Stockman been in poor health all winter, but was suddenly stricken with apoplexy Wednesday evening and expired Thursday forenoon.
